I'm just throwing this idea out there. I have seen these black halloween trees on a couple blogs and I think they are super cute! My husband disagrees and maybe I'm crazy but whatever! I was thinking maybe we could spray paint little Christmas trees but then I read one of the comments on that persons blog and someone suggested tree limbs. That might be cuter anyways? I don't know.
I think it would be fun to spend the evening making ornaments/garlands for the trees. Looks like on the pictures I posted they used a lot of store bought ornaments but we spend the night making our own. We could use dollar store items, glitter (of course) wood, paint, paper, ribbon and candy to make them. I think all of this would be cheap, it's just the cost of the trees I'm not sure of? Tree limbs would be free right?
I actually really like ALL of Elizabeth's ideas and would love to do any of them. I kinda want to do a pillow. The only reason I'm posting this now is if we wanted to do a Halloween craft in September, but we could do it in October for mine if we wanted to.
Anyways, just an idea.

Those are really fun! If you want to do this idea and switch months, I would be fine with that. I guess the big question is, are there small Christmas trees around in September? I can't say I have ever looked.
Hmm.. probably not! I don't want to steal your month. I'm not set on these or anything I am cool with whatever!
I LOVE the rose pillow and the cake stands... first one the most. A tree would be fun too, very original. But... I have to say that I think I am going to make a rose pillow for sure.... I NEED ONE or two.... or four! But I don't mind doing that on my own. I am just excited to make anything.
I like the Idea of doing the Halloween tree this month so that we have Halloween Decor longer and the Pillows or Platters next month. What do you all think?
I like the tree & the banner....
What if we did my craft night the first week in October instead of the second? (On the 6th instead of the 13th) I know they are kind of set, but this way if we did a halloween craft next month (whatever it ends up being, doesn't necessarily have to be the trees) we would have more use out of it. The hard thing for Elizabeth this month is that Halloween stuff hasn't hit all the stores yet so it is harder to prepare? I don't really want to trade since I will be out of town all next week.
Another thought I had was doing some potion bottles? I remember seeing some on a few blogs last year but I don't remember where. We could gather old bottles like what Lisa did and make them look old, make labels and think of scary/cute things to put in them. AND, I know you guys already did feather wreaths but how cute would it be to make black ones??

Oh, and I would like to make a platter at some point! Those are too cute.
I'll browse a few places and see what I can find as far as Halloween stuff goes. I guess that will determine what craft we do. I am sure I could find enough stuff to do a BOO banner and if we do the platters/stands we could make those "halloweenie". Thanks for all the input- keep it coming. And I am fine with moving the Oct. night to the 6th.
By the way Elizabeth there is enough left over burlap from the flag banners to make boo banners if you want to use that.
My favorites are the rose pillow, first cake stand and the monogram pillows. Very cute! =)
by the way, I don't know why my name says "Kirsten and Colby", trust me Colby is not coming. lol.
