September Craft Night

Hey Ladies! I (Elizabeth) am in charge of September's craft night, and since that is only a few weeks away I thought I should get planning. Here are my ideas for the month, if you have anything else- especially a fall/Halloween idea, feel free to post it.

I thought cake plates/stands/serving dishes would be fun to do. We could even paint them orange and black and use them for Halloween.

A Halloween Banner- I really like this boo one. I am not sure who already has Halloween banners...

And pillows. I have seen some really cute canvas and burlap pillows out there and have yet to make one. I love the rosette one and all the stenciled ones. These wouldn't take too much sewing (for all those non-sewers out there).

Let me know what you think ASAP so I can get planning. Maybe we can even do two of the ideas. Let me know in order what projects you wouldn't mind doing, and we will go from there. Thanks!

CRAFT GROUP

Hey girls its that time again to plan this coming years chicksandgluesticks craft group. Thank you so much for being part of my craft group It was better success than I could have imagined. I have tried to talk to many of you about what your ideas are for the craft group and have had lots of great input Thank you.

I have decided to add 2 more people to the craft group to make it an even 9 that way everyone has 1 month to do there project.

SEP, OCT, NOV, JAN, FEB, MAR, APR, MAY

Skip JUNE or DEC Please Vote

Also I need to know what day of the week is best check out the polls

I realize this seems like a lot more but I think it will be fine, If you think you do not have enough room to handle a large project (Big picture frames:) SOOO cute by the way! I will be sharing mine soon I just finished them) We can try to work that out. Callies going to buy a big giant house for us to all go to right? If this is too many for you I understand, Fresh Blood is always good.

Also, If you would like to call me or email me any names of people that you know would be a great and/or would like to get to know that would be great. That helped when I asked you each to be part of this group. I have loved getting to know each of you better. I have a few names in mind but would love input.

So here are the rules to this group (as a reminder and for the new gals to read once I let them know)

1. You must be able to Complete 1 project, I think it is helpful if all supplies are available for that project so that it is 100% finished by the time we leave.

2. Please come to all craft nights its not really fair if 1 person has to put together 9 craft kits and another only does 4 You can give it as a gift if you do not feel that it will fit well in your home- Think girls night out. Obviously if something major comes up things can not be helped but please try to only miss 1 craft night, It is not the hostess responsibility to deliver and re teach the project so if you can’t make it please be considerate.

3. Projects are to be around $15 Please be thoughtful with cost, There will be a bin passed around, With extra supplies so that we do not all buy the same paint brushes .

4. You are welcome to switch months if needed. Just ask the group I have a couple sweet girls who always say they are willing to do whatever. Besides who knows what really will happen in March right?

5. Everyone will get the opportunity to suggest and vote on projects, Please make sure this is done at least 2 weeks in advanced so that if you need to order things or whatever it can be done early enough. Most of us are willing to share our thoughts and ideas so just ask.

6. Please put your photos on the blog they are fun to look at!

7. Relax we are here to have agood time and learn new techniques. I have loved doing the projects on the back of my to do list!

8.If you decide that the craft night is not working with your schedual thats fine but you will need to be in charge of the next month before you quit.

I need to know By Aug 15th if you are

still planning to do this for the up coming year.

Please feel free to call me if you have questions or concerns. Start thinking about which month you want to take on for your craft night, I can't wait to get started again. Start looking for ideas!!

Patriotic Craft

I would love to do a 'patriotic' craft next time around.

I found this banner on Etsy. Yes we've done banners but I think this is different and adorable. It could also be cute with sparkly stars instead of flags?

This is an old window with the flag painted onto the glass. Pretty simple. The stars are painted on the front side along with one set of stripes, everything else on the back. Does that make sense?

What are your ideas?

I put my ladder on my front porch and....
my wreath in my kitchen. Love it! ~Carrie

I loved this project Carrie! They turned out great. I still need to find a better ribbon for mine (it is just a scrap of fabric right now), or maybe copy Amy's glitter letter idea ;). ~Elizabeth

I showed Logan the pictures of the wreaths and he thought they were so cool he made me finish mine. I'm so glad I did- I love it!!! Thanks for the inspiration on the sparkle letters Amy- genious idea! Also, Carrie- one more time thanks for doing such a great job. You must have spent hours and hours putting all this together!!!! ♥Ashley

SO CUTE!!

I was not sure where I was going to put this but I found the perfecy nook. I love it! Thanks...

More Ladder Choices

Hey Girlfriends.... it looks like the ladder is going to be the winner.
I decided that I'll supply what you want, if it is the wreath or letter.
That way you get exactly what you want. The wreath will be a small one from the dollar store to help stay in the budget, which should be fine because the pages are long.
You can choose a chunky ladder like this one or
the first ladder I posted.

April project ideas

Here are some other ideas for April!

We could make these cute tin buckets.... size.... is whatever I can find.
You could put towels in them, drinks for a party, flowers.....

Art for a table.

Paper wreath, you bring your own book to destroy.
This would go with the ladder if the ladder is chosen. ~Carrie

Letter cut out.

If we choose the ladder we will either do a letter or a wreath with it.
Here is one of the letters.

Decorative Ladder

I am so excited I found a picture of one, it took me forever!!! These are popular in Utah and I wanted to buy one when I was there, but had no way of getting it home. I asked my sister-in-law to take a picture of hers so I could post it, but she hasn't sent it yet. But, I did find a similar one on line. You can put this in your house, on your door step, garden.... where ever you want! The ones in Utah come with different wood cuts for each holiday to go on them. I was thinking I would put an antiquish wreath on it or a big letter cut out that is all rustic looking.

What do you think?

For April!! TURN IN YOUR IDEAS to Vote on!!

I really like the finials but I also like the idea of an outside Item. What if we did some type of planter bow our way of course. here are a couple ideas more for the shape then the finish. but this gives you the idea we could paint them in polka dots, stripes or whatever. We could use old doors, shutters or windows to cut up.

These Pictures just show a general idea of what I was thinking.

I like carries ideas for some outdoor decorating ladder http://www.ehow.com/how_5785880_build-freestanding-ladder-shelf.html

PLEASE get your ideas in by Tomorrow so that Carrie has plenty of time to get ready.

Shooting ahead!

SO I am trying to figure out what we want to do in May.

Here are my thoughts of different ideas
1. We could invite a friend not in our ward or your moms (Mothers day) to join in.

2. We could take on a bigger Project I found this Blog so take a look and tell me what you think.http://www.knockoffwood.blogspot.com/Knockoffwoods i can get my father in law or the May's dad :) to cut wood she said it took her an hour to put this together I think we are amazing woman and could totally pull something like this off if we worked together.

Example: This cute bench she said it only took an hour. She said it cost $15, there are storage bins end tables and more.

3. A Good will Remake Trip. We go to goodwill spend $10-$15 then to a craft store to get extras to remake our projects

We could do this some other time (Sat, Morning, etc. )

If you have other suggestions please suggest.

Amy

Something for Outside?!

Okay, this isn't the most exciting idea ever, but I was thinking maybe it would be fun to do some kind of tin pale like this:I saw this one at Camas Antique for $38.00... puhhhlease! That is so expensive. Anyways, we could do a different size & color..We could do polka dots, or monogram it with letters, numbers or think of some words... I don't know!

I was thinking it would be fun to use it outside with some flowers in it, OR you could use it in a bathroom as a trash can or to hold TP or something like that.
Like I said, not the most exciting idea but I do think it would be fun to make something for a porch. You guys are creative.. any ideas?
